Praise Vitality.

The setting sun claps against its oceanic reflection in a coral splash of applause. “Well done, Lord,” it seems to convey. “Once again, God has accomplished His perfect will in this day.”

A crescent moon waits to take its place, grinning praises to the Star-Crafter Who set it as a light-bearer among the night spangles. Silver pulses send songs of light across the earth, glorifying the Light of the Universe.

The greatest hymns remain hidden from mortal view, but resonate with splendorous thunder around, through, and beyond us. Gilded melodies stream from the lips of saints and angels to honor the one and only Lord.

Praise and thankfulness to God connects creation to life-endowing Creator. Our spiritual well-being swells with vitality as we grow in sincere gratitude to the Lord. While we might never understand the power of praising Jesus, our strength has never grown because of superior intellect. Faith and love empower the soul, while competence continues to fumble for significance.

Once in a while, regard nature’s exaltation regimen. Let go of the drive to comprehend it for a moment. Simply join the chorus, and flow with praise for the Sovereign Father. It nourishes life within and dribbles out of us to bless others.

I think I’ll take a walk and offer the sunset company right now. Will you join me?

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen” Romans 1:20

Light Therapy.

Sunrays filter through ozone, cirrus clouds, and an atmospheric parfait of allergens and pollutants. Their fingertips penetrate the grimy window pane and rest upon my shoulder. This infant’s touch of light is just enough to inspire hope in a gloom-shadowed home. The beam stokes my appetite. My feet itch for the mountainside path, longing to reach an unshaded pinnacle.
A summer cold’s fatigue weights me down, securing me in this chair for a while. I sip at the sunshine tonic to nurture me so I may strengthen for an upcoming journey. Shadows often flank the path to the summit, but I will warm my soul to face tomorrow’s hike.
Why this visceral thirst for light? Modern medicine acknowledges our need for sunshine. Light nourishes our physical and emotional well-being. As more barriers and contaminants block us from its benefits, the deficiencies become rampant throughout the earth.
Physical ailments and emotional detriment remain mere symbols of our most significant need. Our dependence upon the sun offers a clue to the world’s ultimate hope. We yearn for light because we were created by the most glorious light in His image. He set this clue in our DNA, to remind us of our purpose–to be united with Him and one another in glory.
It’s no wonder I hunger for this, as we were all created to dwell in His love forever. My heart yearns to scramble past these pollutants, all the shadowy distractions of this world, and crawl inside the Maker of Light.
Like light felt and unseen, to live within it offers only half the delight. My full purpose is to take others by the hand and draw them alongside me on that venture to Christ’s resplendent destiny.
This summer cold will soon pass, but deeper frailties will take time to heal. The journey to share His light does not wait for full recovery to start out.
My grubby, contaminated arms fumble to share the light, spilling it as I try. My Teacher encourages me to continue the effort, reminding me of the rays through my dirt-streaked window. Thank the Lord it only takes a dribble of light to bring hope. So I do my best, and the Healer promises to do the rest.
Will you share the light with us? Come with your ailments and frailty, for He makes the willing able.

Rain cascades from the grey mists above to saturate vegetation and the aquifers beneath it. Drops tinkle against windows and tin to craft a natural melody for the tree frog’s song. The first day of rain sets the outdoor world in gem-like sheen.

We dust-beings observe from shelter. New scenery delights the eye–until the novelty tarnishes. A month’s thirst fades from our mind after one wet day too many. Well before a storm threatens to flood our property, we bewail the missing sun. Our complaints against its harsh rays slip out from memory as we begrudge the clouds’ unwelcome shade. We plead for showers, then wish them to end. How our fickle hearts betray us!

Discontent plagues the human race, for we do not align our hearts with the Wellspring of Joy. Happiness eludes those who stare from cave-like holes at the circumstances, impaling their hope on “whether” forecasts.

Joy assures us of life breathed into our dry carcasses, regardless of heat or storms. Christ calms the storms within so we can dance with Him in rain or shine without melting.

I praise You, Lord, Maker of all things from grey to gold. You hold my hand and quiet my thundering heart. In You, my Savior, I can rest with content. You are all I need, and my true thirst is quenched by Your Spirit’s spring of life within me. Thank You, Lord Jesus. May all Your works drum and shine together as a melody of praise to which Your children sing. Amen.
